In today’s architectural world, facade design often remains stuck in a rigid, time-consuming process. Designers and fabricators wrestle with static presentations, manual calculations, and inflexible systems that limit their ability to iterate and adapt. Client presentations frequently rely on basic renderings that fail to capture the dynamic possibilities of modern architectural solutions. But what if there was a way to break free from these constraints and step into the future?

Enter Product Configurators – a game-changing platform that transforms how architectural solutions are designed, presented, and sold. Product configurators are interactive platforms that empower designers and fabricators to create, present, and sell architectural solutions through real-time design modifications, instant generation of production-ready files, and collaborative design exploration.

Leveraging the power of computational design, these tools turn complex challenges into interactive, compelling experiences. Let’s understand how these configurators can help in improving workflows for designers, fabricators and AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction) professionals.

Case Study: Yashika Coin Facade

We stumbled upon a cool project on Parametric Architecture the other day and decided to try our hand at recreating a similar version of its Parametric Facade. Below is a BeeGraphy’s interactive web-frame that contains a model of the facade, the inspiration of which we took from SOGA Design Studio. The Yashika Coin Facade, developed in collaboration with Metaguise, is located in Gurugram, India.

The building features rectangular panels, with laser cut circular discs. Each of these circular discs are of the same size and arranged in a rectangular Grid. These discs are uniquely angled to represent the input image in the Configurator. We parametrized the Angle of the disc based on the color gradation of the image. This design also creates a dynamic play of light and shadows, as sunlight shifts throughout the day creating an illusion of movement and a vibrant sense of energy!

This project  highlights the Configurator’s ability to host and work with complex models in a fast and lightweight way.
