Lumos Kinetica

The kinetic ceiling light is a dynamic and interactive lighting solution that transforms the traditional concept of task lighting. The design incorporates tensioned ropes that form faces attached to linear wooden parts at the top. These parts rotate around their center, creating a mesmerizing interplay of light and shadow. In its initial position, the fixture functions as a standard task light, offering focused illumination. However, as the faces rotate, intricate shadow patterns are projected onto the surrounding walls, enhancing the ambiance of any space.

Parametric modeling is integral to the design, with the rotation angle of the faces serving as a key parameter. The top section contains a basic motor, gears, and a wireless control board, enabling remote operation and smooth, customizable rotation.
